He has missed the majority of the season for both club and country due to a shoulder injury he suffered in December last year, but that hasn’t derailed Itumeleng Khune from reaching for the stars when it comes to how long he hopes to continue his playing days.
After reading Soccer Laduma’s Fan Park story on the 73-year-old Israeli goalkeeper, Isaak Hayik, Khune, who is inspired by Hayik’s incredible achievement, took to Twitter to share the age he would most likely want to retire.
“Hence I became a goalkeeper (because0 goalkeepers mature like wine, my plan (exactly), the only difference is that I’m targeting 80. #Inspired “ the 31-year old tweeted.
The Ventersdorp-born shot-stopper has been with the Amakhosi since 2004, meaning that he would most likely retire in the year 2068 if he were to get his wish!
