SAFA are expected to announce the new Bafana Bafana head coach some time this week, but how much will they have to spend on the new tactician? Let's take a look!
It has been no secret that Danny Jordaan has splurged big on coaches' salaries when it comes to securing the mentor he wants, and it is likely to be the same this time around.
As things stand, it seems SAFA have still not secured the signature of the national team's next head coach, due to a number of reasons.
Primary target Carlos Queiroz is currently contracted to the Iran national team, and he has a massive buyout clause of R12.9 million in his deal with them.
The massive figure will certainly deter SAFA somewhat, as they would also have to pay him a salary and, again, he doesn't come cheap.
Meanwhile, Herve Renard is another possibility, but like Queiroz, he is also tied to a national team, Morocco, along with Hugo Broos, who won the Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon.
Gavin Hunt, who is the only South African said to be on SAFA's shortlist for the position, is also contracted to Bidvest Wits, but former Orlando Pirates coach Ruud Krol is not.
These names have been bandied about for months, but what would they roughly cost SAFA each month? Browse the gallery above!
