Amr Gamal has been absent from the Bidvest Wits starting squad for the last three games, and although there were transfer rumours linked with the Egyptian nothing ever materialised. So what’s really going on?
The 26-year-old look set to take the league by storm when he arrived at the start of the season with acclaimed side Al Ahly. And though he seemed to be off to a promising start as a regular in coach Gavin Hunt’s XI and who even found the back of the net in consecutive games.Things seemed to derail quickly.
As the goals dried up and the Clever Boys struggled with points, Gamal saw his playing time diminish to pretty much none at all.
It has been reported that the player and his coach struggle with communication as the language barrier has proved a very big problem for the two, however with so many players from different backgrounds and nationalities playing in countries where they do not speak the language, one should wonder if this is the only reason.
During the transfer window, the striker was linked with a number of clubs in the PSL but nothing ever came of those rumours. With the the player’s loan with the Students expiring at the end of the season, will Hunt be invested enough to play him again?
What do you think of Gamal’s situation?
