It was revealed in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma that coach Stuart Baxter is interested in signing English striker James Keene in a bid to solve the club's woes in front of goal.
Since the departure of former striker Kingston Nkhatha, we haven't looked much of a threat upfront and with not much being known about Keene, we as fans have no idea what to expect from the player.
As a striker, Keene may not have the best goal-scoring record up until now, as online stats suggest that he has only scored a mere 49 goals in his career so far.
This could indicate that he is not the goal-scoring striker and that, much like Nkhatha, he could be the hardworking and aggressive striker that Baxter likes to use as part of his strategy.
He could be signed during the international break should his trial stint at Naturena be successful. This is a player Baxter knows, and fans will no doubt trust him regarding his interest in the 29-year-old.
The striking epidemic in South Africa may have forced Baxter to stretch his eyes abroad to address the club's own dilemma in front of goal for the business end of the season.
This may also put rest of the strikers at the club on high alert as the club will continue to sign strikers until the problem is solved.
What do you say, is this the right move by Baxter?
