With mouth-watering performances from a few individuals of late, the Fan Park Crew takes a look at five players who we believe are currently in their form of their lives.
Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur
The 21-year-old has almost redefined the term ‘purple patch’ this season for his London club, as he’s been in scintillating form since the start of the season. With his impressive goal tally of 30 goals in all competitions, Kane has also earned himself a spot in the England squad for their upcoming friendlies. At the weekend, Kane bagged his first hat-trick in the English Premier League, taking him level with Diego Costa as the league's top goal-scorer.
Lionel Messi – Barcelona
This year has been brilliant for Messi so far, and his impressive performances started talk of him being on his way to his fifth Ballon d’Or. Although he didn’t score against Manchester City in the Champions League, his performance was hailed by pundits and players alike. Currently, he on 43 goals from 41 games, as well as 25 assists - meaning that the 27-year-old has contributed to 68 goals alone this season.
Eden Hazard – Chelsea
Another player who has been in top form this season, Hazard has produced a rampant run of world-class displays. He’s been the most consistent player this season for Chelsea and rarely sat games out. Against Hull on the weekend, the 24-year-old scored a superb goal from long-range with his weaker foot – although some may argue he doesn’t have one.
Alexandre Lacazette – Lyon
The French forward leads the scoring charts in France, and recently went on a run of 10 goals in six games. The 23-year-old has scored 23 league goals this season from 26 games, while he’s assisted seven times for his teammates.
Gerard Pique – Barcelona
Barcelona’s central defender was named the Man of the Match against Real Madrid in the El Clasico, after putting in a few match-winning challenges against Los Blancos’ attacking force. He was equally impressive in their win against Manchester City, and is up there with the very best defenders at the moment.
