We only have eight games to go in the English Premier League, and with that it is pretty easy to say that the five players selected are highly unlikely to change our perceptions of them by the time the final whistle is blown.
Today, the Fan Park Crew takes a look at five of the worst EPL signings of this season.
The £16 million pound fee that Liverpool paid for him has been a big waste. The club knew signing him would be a risk, and all season long he has done little to prove that he can fulfil is potential.
The Colombian and Manchester United thought they could be a match made in heaven, but sadly it seems that is was not meant to be, as the striker just hasn’t been able to get going. Injury has hampered his performances this season, and the lack of goals has been a huge worry.
To think Manchester City paid £32 million for the central defender is unbelievable! The big, imposing centre-back has looked shaky at times and with Vincent Kompany on the decline, we can't see him taking over soon.
Angel Di Maria
When you pay nearly £60m for one of the world’s best, there is a reasonable expectation that he will win you a few games, but the standout performances from Di Maria’s can be counted on one hand, and he just hasn’t been able to get to grips with the Premier League.
The centre midfielder is another player that moved from Porto to the Premier League and has failed to impress. He was meant to add more power and a new dynamic to the Manchester City midfield, but sadly, he has not managed to do that.
