With the Soweto derby around the corner and a game against Polokwane City still to be played beforehand, there are a number of players who are walking a tightrope for suspension.
For a player to be suspended for a fixture, he must pick up four yellow cards, and there are currently five players who are one booking away from suspension on Pirates’ books - meaning they could miss out on the derby.
Currently, Kermit Erasmus, Lehlohonolo Majoro, Siyabonga Sangweni, Thabo Qalinge and Mpho Mvelase are all three yellow cards – something the club needs to be wary of.
Erasmus and Majoro have been two crucial components to Pirates’ eight-match unbeaten run, and should they get cautioned in tomorrow evening’s game, they could very well disrupt the unbeaten run. We simply cannot do without them!
This is something the fans and Eric Tinkler does not want, and he could very well resort to playing the strikers on different occasions in the match and maybe rely on the services of Lennox Bacela for this game.
Precautions have to be made by the players in tomorrow evening’s fixture and the onus is on them to make sure that they don’t get suspended for the Soweto derby.
Ghosts, we cannot do without the services of any of these players for the derby, what are your thoughts on this?
