There is no doubt that the South African Premier Soccer League has improved leaps and bounds over the last five years or so, particularly after the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and in turn, players are stronger, have become quicker and fitter with each rising level of every season.
Here is a list of some of the fittest players in the PSL.
The Kaizer Chiefs left back is probably in the prime of his life. Even at the age of 29, Masilela can be seen romping down the left-flank for a full 90 minutes non-stop.
Yeye often got the praise from his teammates in this regard, as many of his peers feel he could be the fittest player at Naturena.
In last season’s PSL campaign, Manyisa managed to play more games than any other player in the league. In total, Ace played in 51 games for the club, missing only two fixtures for the entire season.
Mobara may be talented when it comes to defensive duties but there is no doubt that the 21-year-old is gifted with a high level of fitness. He hardly breaks a sweat during football games, and when he does, you know that he had a really good game of football.
Morton may lack in technical ability and skill, but what he does make up for is in his ability to get up and down the pitch. His high work rate and stamina is what makes him a good player more than anything else and is without a doubt one of the fittest players in the league.
Who else do you think fits the bill as some of the fittest players in the PSL?
