El Clasico is almost upon us and with La Liga so tightly contested, we thought that we would look back at previous meetings between the two sides that were effectively title deciders in the end.
Barcelona 1- 2 Real Madrid: 2011/12 season (Match week 35)
The match will be always be remembered for that memorable Cristiano Ronaldo goal and his celebration gesture of "calm down" towards the Camp Nou crowd. The win gave Jose Mourinho's side the title with three games to go before the end of the season.
Real Madrid 0 – 2 Barcelona: 2009/10 season (Match week 31)
Mourinho's Real Madrid side had not dropped a single point at home all season, but they finally did when they faced Pep Guardiola's Barca. Goals by Leo Messi and Pedro put Barcelona clear at the top of the table.
Real Madrid 2-6 Barcelona: 2008/09 season (Match week 34)
Juande Ramos' Real Madrid had put together a brilliant winning streak to try reel in Barcelona, but it was not meant to be as the Catalans blew their arch rivals out the water by smashing them 6-2 at the Bernabeu.
Real Madrid 0-1 Barcelona: 1993/94 season (Match week 37)
It was the penultimate match of the title run-in that would go on to be decided by Miroslav Djukic's last-gasp missed penalty. Real were already out of the running, and Barca needed to win to secure the title. Djukic could have secured a late draw for Los Blancos, but his miss from the spot essentially handed the Catalans the title.
