Banyana Banyana put seven past Equatorial Guinea in the Africa Women's Cup of Nations yesterday, and in the process, put smiles on the faces of football fans in Mzansi, who have since showed their appreciation for the women's national team on social media. Did you see it?
Showing no mercy at the Cape Coast Stadium on Wednesday evening, Banyana made light work of their Guinean counterparts in their second Group B match, which came after a morale-boosting victory over Nigeria last weekend.
Breaking the deadlock in the 22nd minute, Linda Motlhalo opened the scoring via the penalty spot, while Nompumelelo Nyandeni doubled her team's advantage two minutes later.
Thembi Kgatlana, Refiloe Jane, Amanda Mthandi and Jermaine Seoposenwe also got in among the goals as the floodgates opened for Banyana.
