With resumption of the league getting ever closer, Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter will have to face a conundrum in the captaincy department - Itumeleng Khune or Tefu Mashamaite?
There is no questioning that Khune has been a valiant servant with the armband for many years now, be it on and off the field, and has done everything possible to encourage and lead his teammates by example.
Naturally, Khune has been the number one choice for the club, but his position could be under threat - according to Soccer Laduma’s Siya Crew, who claim Baxter may feel it ‘unjust’ to switch around the armband again after Tefu had taken over during Khune's absence.
The centre-back has been pivotal to the team’s excellent run of form this season, thriving as a leader when stability was needed at the back.
‘Masha’ has barely put a foot wrong this season and he has given Baxter no reason to relieve him of his duties as skipper.
Khosi fans, these are two highly capable men when it comes to leading the team out onto the field…
Who do you think should be the Chiefs captain – Itumeleng Khune or Tefu Mashamaite?
