Today, we give you the Fan Park picks for the five most in-form teams in Europe right now, based on the last six league matches from Europe’s top five leagues.
Juventus
The Italian side have won five of their last six games in Serie A, continuing to fight off competition from the high-flying Roma and maintaining their top spot. Their conversion to a more attacking style has paid off and they have scored 30 goals (the most in the league) this season. Add their ever-present defensive solidarity, and they will be a difficult team to beat this season.
Rennes
A surprising candidate on our list, Rennes have won five of their last six games in Ligue 1, drawing the other to take themselves up to fifth place in the league. In that run they beat both Monaco and Marseille and their Mozambique international centre back, Mexer, has helped them become a solid defensive outfit that is proving a very difficult team to break down.
Paris Saint-Germain
Staying in France, Laurent Blanc’s PSG side may be a point off of top spot in the league this season, but they are hot on Marseille’s trail, having won five of their last six games and scoring for fun this season. Their midfield is one of the strongest in Europe and they seem certain to go far in the Champions League this season, even though there is serious competition in the race for the Ligue 1 title.
Bayern Munich
Once again, Pep Guardiola’s team are starting to dominate German football and they are running away with the league after claiming 22 of the four points available to them in the last six games. They are dominating possession, scoring goals and, perhaps more importantly, keeping them out. There are few teams in Europe that can compete with their quality.
Real Madrid
Carlo Ancelotti’s team are now on a run of 17 straight wins and are the clear candidates to top our Power Rankings, with their winning run set to extend into the New Year. They have already scored an incredible 48 league goals and have only conceded 12, which makes them look unstoppable.
