Touchline bust ups are things we don’t see too often in football, but when they do happen we tend to remember them for many years.
The Fan Park Crew has picked five famous bust ups from recent years.
AC Milan vs Tottenham – 2011
After an incident on the pitch, tempers erupted on the sidelines and there were words exchanged between Spur’s assistant coach Joe Jordan and Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso. Things went one step further though, as a few seconds later we saw Gattuso grab Jordan by the neck.
Barcelona v Real Madrid - 2011
Since Jose Mourinho’s departure, El Clasico hasn’t quite been the same, but today we take you back to August 2011. Both sides cleared their benches after an altercation on the park, we saw Jose Mourinho also get involved in the pushing and shoving - which lead him to poking the late Tito Vilanova in the eye.
Fiorentina v Novara Calcio – 2012
It’s not every day we hear about managers having physical altercations with one of their own players. This was sadly the case though when Fiorentina coach Delio Rossi had a fight with his own player, Adem Ljajic, in the dugout during their match against Novara Calcio. He got sacked a few days later.
Arsenal v Chelsea -2014
Wenger and Mourinho have been at each other's throats for a few seasons now, but in October 2014 things boiled over. The two got into a little touchline scuffle and ended up pushing each other, before the fourth official got involved.
Newcastle v Arsenal
Arsene Wenger seems to be the king of touchline bust ups, and this time the Frenchman had a go at former Newcastle manager Alan Pardew. Words were exchanged from the dugouts, and before you knew it, both managers were face to face - with Wenger deciding to nudge Pardew, who didn’t take it too well.
Can you think of anymore touchline bust ups?
