Europe’s Worst XI in January 2015

For some, January was a very long month filled with a few shocking performances. The Fan Park Crew did some digging to bring you Europe's Worst XI for January 2015.

Wojciech Szczesny – Arsenal

Fan Park Rating: 6

Szczesny is no doubt a talented goalkeeper, but seems to make too many mistakes when between the sticks. He was also caught smoking last month, which led to him getting fined and dropped for a few games.

Carles Planas – Celta Vigo

Fan Park Rating: 5

The Spaniard is a former Barcelona graduate, but left for Celta Vigo last year. Since playing in defence, his side has conceded six goals in two games, and has also received two yellow cards and one red card during the month.

Guirane N'Daw – Metz

Fan Park Rating: 6

N’Daw played three out of the four games for the club in January and picked up two yellow cards - he also saw his side concede six goals while on the park.

Dedryck Boyata – Manchester City

Fan Park Rating: 5

Boyata has made two appearances during January, but only played one full game this month. He was part of the side that lost in the FA Cup to Middlesbrough at home, and played a part in almost every goal conceded. He started at centre back that day but was later moved to the right.

Nicolas Burdisso – Genoa

Fan Park Rating: 5

The centre back has played in all four of Genoa’s games last month and has seen his team concede 10 goals along the way. He picked up two yellow cards and a red card during that time.

John Obi Mikel – Chelsea

Fan Park Rating: 6.2

Mikel played three games for Chelsea in January and failed to help them defensively as much as he usually does. He saw his side concede eight goals and was part of the side that lost 4-2 to Bradford in the FA Cup.

Karl Henry – Queens Park Rangers

Overall Rating This Season: 5.7

Henry has seriously struggled these past few months at Queens Park Rangers, but January was one of his worst. He played in all five of QPR's matches and saw his team concede 11 goals. He was also terrible against Sheffield United as they suffered a 3-0 loss in the FA Cup.

Arturo Vidal

Fan Park Rating: 6

The player has had average January, especially by his standards. He played in in all four of Juventus matches in January, but only managed to score only one goal during in the month. The Chilean was also substituted three times in the four matches.

Steven Naismith – Everton

Fan Park Rating: 6

Naismith started the season on a promising not, but fell away last month. He played in all six of Everton’s matches and only scored once - while Everton only won one in five games during January.

Fernando Llorente' – Juventus

Fan Park Rating: 5

Llorente has started all four of Juventus matches in January and failed to score any goals. He was substituted in three of the four matches due to his ineffective performances.

Gabriel Agbonlahor – Aston Villa

Fan Park Rating: 5

Aston Villa have struggled for goals this season and Agbonlahor started in all four of Villa’s matches in January. The frontman is currently on a 10-match goal drought.
