It has become a custom at Mamelodi Sundowns to sign a host of players and as a result of the squad being so big, many players are sent out on loan. Should they stay at Chloorkop, however, game time could be limited and we know that is detrimental to any footballer’s career.
So then, what will happen to some of our most high profile players that are out on loan on their return to Chloorkop next season?
Sangweni has been Chippa United’s star man this season, and has even earned himself a Bafana Bafana call up this year. Nevertheless, with so many midfielders at the club, I don’t feel he would get much game time at the club.
Ngele’s recent performances for Platinum Stars may be enough to ensure he is re-called to Chloorkop next season - as he has been nothing short of top-class this season. He could add real value to the current Downs outfit.
Nyatama may be in the same dilemma as Sangweni. Despite being a quality midfielder, it may be too packed for yet another hard man in the team.
Downs fans may feel a bit disappointed on this one, as Dolly has been below his best for Ajax Cape Town this season. Would he handle the pressure of fighting for a place at Downs after being a regular at Ajax, even when out of form? I doubt it.
Who would you want to see back at Chloorkop next season?
