The off-season means that more often than not, the biggest stars take part in charity matches. Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t seem to know the definition of the word, ‘friendly’.
In preparation for his native Portugal’s UEFA Nation’s league semi-final, Ronaldo teamed up with legends Francesco Totti, Pavel Nedved and Andrea Pirlo in a charity match called Partita Del Cuore, which translates to, matters of the heart.
Ronaldo didn’t seem to feel too sentimental, the 34-year-old was at his ruthless best.
He burst through the opposition defence to score a fantastic solo goal. Ronaldo ran off to the corner to pull off his trademark ‘si’ celebration.
He was hilariously joined by an opposing player in executing his now-famous leap into the air.
Ronaldo then reminded Juve fans of the night he sunk their hearts by scoring that goal in the Champions league semi-finals while still on the books of Real Madrid.
After latching onto a delicate Pirlo chip, Ronaldo attempted an overhead kick although it went narrowly wide.
Ronaldo shared images of the match on his Instagram page.
