Tonight is the night that Kaizer Chiefs, our Glamour Boys, our heroes, could be crowned 2014/15 Absa Premiership champions, and if we do, the club should do it in honour of Shoes Moshoeu.
The midfield maestro graced the Gold and Black for three stellar years in which helped the club take flight and help fill the stadiums, as everyone wanted to watch his skills.
From his magnificent first touches, to his pin-point crossing and his ridiculously amazing tricks - Shoes was undoubtedly one of the greatest players to come out of South Africa.
During his time at Naturena, Shoes lifted the Absa Premiership title twice and it is because of the influence he had on Chiefs winning the league, tonight’s triumph has to be in honour of him.
The club shouldn’t need any extra motivation for tonight, but Shoes’ untimely death will certainly spur our boys on.
This year’s league success should always be remembered in honour of John Shoes Moshoeu… May he rest in peace.
Do you think the club should name this year’s league triumph after Shoes?
