A striking feature about Kaizer Chiefs' brand of football this season has been their combinations in all areas on the pitch.
Today the Fan Park crew will take a look at Amakhosi’s best pairings in the team, and how they have formed the embryo of a well-oiled Chiefs machine.
Tefu Mashamaite and Eric Mathoho
Dubbed the ‘Twin Towers’, the duo has formed the strongest defensive pairing in the league, conceding only eight goals in 18 games. Their telepathic relationship on the pitch lightens the defensive duties from the deep lying midfielders, as they have full confidence that the Twin Towers are always on their A game.
Willard Katsande And Reneilwe Letsholonyane
Katsande has improved in leaps and bounds ever since he moved to Naturena from Ajax Cape Town, while Yeye has been playing some of the best football of his career. The combination of Yeye and ‘Salt and Vinegar’ is arguably the most solid midfield paring in the league.
George Lebese And Mandla Masango
The two wingers may not play directly next to each other; however, there is no denying the fact that their work on each flank has stretched teams to create more space and chances, while they have also caused havoc on the edge of opposition penalty areas.
