As reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Mamelodi Sundowns attacking midfielder Khama Billiat is being monitored by French giants Lille OSC after impressing scouts in a friendly match.
Despite being injured at the beginning of the season, Billiat hit the ground running upon his return and has been one of Downs’ best players alongside the likes of Teko Modise and Cuthbert Malajila.
The French Ligue 1 scouts were said to be impressed by Billiat's performances in a 2-0 victory over Zesco in a friendly about two weeks ago.
Lille is the club that moulded Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard into being one of the best wingers in the world and Billiat will no doubt be licking his lips at the prospect of being trained at such a high level.
Also, the 24-year-old shares many similarities to that of Hazard. Both players have the ability to play out wide and on either flank. Technically they are both brilliant, as they could score goals and create chances for their teammates.
Sundowns would not stand in the players’ way if a move abroad should materialise, and Billiat has all the right tools to sparkle in a European league.
Do you think Billiat has enough quality to make it abroad?
