We may have shared the spoils in last night’s frustrating 1-1 draw at the hands of Mpumalanga Black Aces in the Absa Premiership but all is not lost as we still stand a chance of retaining our league trophy.
One of our most influential players in the league this season has been winger Khama Billiat, who has been our second highest scorer in the Absa Premiership with seven goals, only to be topped by Cuthbert Malajila with 10 goals in the league.
His seven goals as a midfielder can be seen as an amazing feat in recent times as goals from either strikers or midfielder have been hard to come by for the last couple of seasons domestically.
To put things into perspective, and I feel this could come across as a tad bit embarrassing, Billiat has scored more goals than all of the current Kaizer Chiefs strikers put together in the league.
This just underlines the striking problems at Naturena at the moment and it’s a problem they have been trying to eradicate all season.
Former striker Kingston Nkhatha, when at the club netted only two goals in the league when at the club. Bernard Parker, thus far, has scored only four goals in the league with Siphelele Mthembu netting a solitary strike too.
The rest of the striking department comprising of Mathew Rusike, David Zulu and Katlego Mphela are yet to open their accounts in the Absa Premiership.
Apart from Nkhatha, the Chiefs striking department only has five goals to show for in the league compared to seven scored by Billiat, who is a midfielder...
Having said that, do you think Billiat will end the season scoring more goals than any other Chiefs player in the league?
