With Tokelo Rantie’s Bournemouth on the verge of officially being promoted into the English Premier League, the Bafana Bafana star is destined to come up against some massive names.
Today, I take a look at some of the world’s biggest players Rantie will most likely come up against next season…
Robin Van Persie (Manchester United)
The former Arsenal striker is one of the most popular players in the English Premier League and Rantie will no doubt be eager to out-score Van Persie when Bournemouth and United meet next season. It will be the battle of the strikers.
Yaya Toure (Manchester City)
A fellow African who Rantie should know a lot about, Yaya Toure will be the first man the Bafana man will come up against when he attempts to make an attacking run against City. It will be an interest duel to bare witness to.
Wilfried Bony (Manchester City)
Another Ivoirian who is on the books of City and one which Rantie will also be aiming to out-score. With both men usually target players up front, who hold the ball up well for their respective teams, Bony and Rantie.
John Terry (Chelsea)
The veteran has been at the centre of Chelsea’s backline for years and he will make it difficult for Rantie to burst in on goal. With next season set to be Rantie’s first in the EPL, this challenge is one he will want to come out on the better side of.
Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)
The powerful United man is an idol to many players of Rantie’s age and it will surely be a dream come true for the South African to face him. With both players possessing pace, power and an exceptional boot, Rooney versus Rantie will be an intriguing outing.
Steven Pienaar (Everton)
While Schillo may not be playing as frequently for Everton as he did when he first arrived in Merseyside, both sets of players will be eager to come up against each other in a South African battle. With Pienaar the only South African in the EPL right now, Rantie will be hoping to continue on with the fine form the 33-year-old has graced the English Premier League with.
Which battle are you looking forward to most?
