Competitive action will resume with a bang this week, and it will see Stuart Baxter’s Kaizer Chiefs come up against Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday evening, before taking on Township Rollers in Botswana…. But which line-ups will he use?
During the course of the mid-season break in December and January, Baxter has been able to fine tune any troubles he may think his squad has, and, at the same time, he has also tested several line-ups.
During friendly matches his side has featured in during the first month of 2015, Baxter has often opted to play with two completely different XI’s in each half of the fixture. Perhaps a stronger one and a slightly weaker one, or maybe there is a happy medium across both XI’s?
This could very well be because he is preparing his team for two big games this week...
The match against Bloemfontein Celtic will, by no means, be a walkover, while a positive result on the tough terrain in Botswana will undoubtedly bode well should they hope to qualify for the CAF Champions League group stages.
With a 15 point gap at the top of the table, some would be inclined to think that the dropping of points against Celtic won’t be a tragedy, but after watching how the title was thrown away last season, nobody is celebrating just yet….
To get 2015 underway with a win is a must and to ensure that they get a positive result against Shakes Ngwenya’s Rollers side is also of the utmost importance.
Khosi fans, do you think Baxter could feature a weaker line-up for either the Celtic or Rollers game?
