Always ready for the spectacular, Itumeleng Khune's "scorpion kick" save in 2016 became a major talking point on social media at the time, and Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande recalled the moment recently. Check it out!
The scorpion kick save was made famous by Colombian goalkeeper Rene Higuita, who pulled of the move during a friendly against England in 1995. The high-risk goalkeeper's trick inspired Khune to do the same in an Absa Premiership match against Mpumalanga Black Aces back in 2016, albeit just after the full-time whistle had blown.
That said, Katsande took to Twitter recently to show his admiration for Khune's party piece, writing: "Appreciation post to my Captain @IIKHUNE_32_16@KaizerChiefs Boss Ya Mboka Kitoko Makasi."
