Itumeleng Khune has earned a reputation for being a formidable shot-stopper with his acrobatics and reflexes. One for the big occasion, the Kaizer Chiefs goalie came up trumps when he faced Brazilian superstar, Neymar.
It was under the reign of Gordon Igesund in 2012 when Bafana made the trip to South America where they took on five-time FIFA World Cup winners Brazil in their own back yard.
With a star-studded line-up featuring the likes of Neymar, Dani Alves and Hulk, Bafana were in for a torrid time.
Igesund’s men however proved stubborn for the Brazilians to break down and it took a second half Hulk rocket to separate the two sides.
The highlight of the match however, came when Khune managed to deny Brazil talisman Neymar on several occasions.
The 32-year-old from Ventersdorp was at his athletic best and ensured the scoreline remained respectable for the men from Mzansi.
