Amakhosi fans will have fond #ThrowbackThursday memories of former defender Ivan Bukenya, whose time in South Africa was marred by questions over his age and ability.
With one Absa Premiership title to his name, it is safe to regard Bukenya’s time in Mzansi as successful. Used largely as a sub by Stuart Baxter, he made 25 appearances for the Glamour Boys.
Still only 28, the Ugandan arrived in Mzansi as a young unknown entity from Iraqi side Erbil in 2013.
He spent three seasons with Amakhosi, before heading to India, where he joined East Bengal in the second tier.
The lanky 1,9 m defender, who also played in midfield when required, is currently clubless having left his Swedish side Linkoping City at the end of 2018.
