The 2011/12 season saw the Soweto giants emerge as winners of the Absa Premiership for a second campaign running as then-Bucs mentor Ruud Krol and his charges ran riot in the PSL. Along with the coveted league title, Pirates also claimed the Telkom Knockout trophy and the Top 8 (now MTN8) honour as well.
The simplistic design of Pirates' 2011/12 strip brings memories of the likes of Daine Klate, Benni McCarthy and Oupa Manyisa shining in the button-collared jerseys.
As for the current Bucs kit, the white base accompanied by feint black vertical stripes has become quite popular among the club's legions of fans.
The decision to go for a white colour scheme as the club's home colour instead of the customary black raised eyebrows when the strip was revealed, but the kit that pays homage to the Buccaneers' 1996 CAF Champions League heroes grew on the supporters swiftly.
