What’s the story?

2016 will go down as one of the most memorable years in Sundowns history, with the club going all the way in the CAF Champions League showpiece.

Many consider that Downs team to be one of, if not the greatest team in their history, considering their local and continental success during that period.

Star Power

Known for their incredible strength in depth, Sundowns had arguably the strongest team in the land for the 2015/16 campaign.

With a mix of experience, youth and talent, ex-Sundowns mentor Pitso Mosimane was spoilt for choice come matchday, with his stars producing the goods more often than not.

Heros Everywhere

The Chloorkop’s star power at the time was perhaps best showcased in one of Kekana’s recent Instagram posts where he wished former striker Leonardo Castro a happy birthday.

Also featured in the post is that of Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly, who with the striker formed the deadly ‘CBD’ partnership. Experienced campaigners Anthony Laffor and Denis Onyango also featured in the photo of Downs heroes.
