What’s the story?
It can be said that when it comes to music, South Africa has produced some of the most well-known genres on the African continent. Following the likes of Deep House and Gqom, Amapiano is now one of the most played genres in Mzansi.
Amapiano To The World
Amapiano can be described as a hybrid of music types such as deep house, jazz and lounge music, with its soft and soulful sounds played around clubs and cafes around South Africa.
That being said, Manchester United star Jesse Lingard took to his Instagram account recently where he was seen showcasing his music player system, as he jammed to some Amapiano.

This swiftly caught the attention of the South African public, as seen in the reactions on Twitter and Instagram. The United star’s song of choice was Killer Kau and JazziQ’s ‘Amaneighbour’, a track that became hugely popular earlier this year.
Killer Kau, who become one of the most popular Amapiano artists in recent years, tragically lost his life in a motor vehicle accident back in October.
