It's not every day we hear stories like this, but here is a shocking revelation from Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo's mother.
In the new documentary film Ronaldo, which covers the star's rise from humble beginnings to the summit of world football, his mom, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, revealed that she seriously considered having an abortion while pregnant with the Real star as she had already given birth to three children.
"I wanted to have an abortion, but God did not want that to happen. Cristiano was an unwanted baby, but he's given me so much joy.
"He was a child I wanted to abort. We laugh about it now and he says, 'Now I am helping you all.'"
Ronaldo's biographical documentary hits theatres on 9 November.
