What’s the story?
The former SuperSport United midfielder has built a reputation for himself as being one of the best upcoming stars on the local football scene. Now set to represent the yellow of Sundowns, Mokoena will mix it up with the best of the best.
It can be said that Mokoena’s signing is one of, if not the biggest talking point in local football at the moment, with supporters keen on seeing where his upward trajectory would take him.
Crossing The Divide
The 25-year-old spent eight years at SuperSport United before signing a four and a half-year deal with the reigning DStv Premiership champions. Sundowns have made sure to add firepower to their midfield department, with Bolivian star Erwin Saavedra set to join the team in February.
Mokoena joins a long list of Matsatsantsa stars to have made the way to Chloorkop, following the likes of Hlompho Kekana, Elias Pelembe, Anthony Laffor and more recently, Grant Kekana.
PUMA Stars
That being said, Mokeona will also be one of the top PUMA athletes at Sundowns, joining ballers such as Themba Zwane and Lebohang Maboe as representatives of the sportswear giants. The talented midfielder often takes to his Instagram account where he is seen showcasing his PUMA drip and latest football gear.
