In what is an unprecedented move, Nike have brought back some iconic boot designs stemming from as far back as 2002.
The Nike Air Zoom Total 90 II were a hit when they were first released in 2002. They featured prominently in the FIFA World Cup hosted in Korea and Japan . They were worn by legends such Luis Figo and Roberto Carlos.
Fans were enthused when Nike revealed that they would be bringing the boots back with a modern twist.
The Nike Mercurial Superfly I was a game changer in 2009, when they were debuted by Portuguese sensation Cristiano Ronaldo. Locally Teko Modise was famous for donning the boot that featured a carbon fibre soleplate in addition to being one of the lightest boots ever created at the time.
Another legendary boot was the Nike Tiempo Legend IV Elite, which was first displayed in 2011 by the likes of Andrea Pirlo and Ronaldinho.
It was a re-enactment of a boot that had been around for years, although the orange pop from the tongue gave it a sweet twist, making it one of the coolest leather boots around.
