FORMER president Jacob Zuma's father-in-law, Fartescue Conco, is a happy ancestor.

He died in March 2023, and although he died when he had not mended his relationship with his daughter, Zuma's baby mama and TV presenter Nonkanyiso "LaConco" Conco, the family believes that he is resting peacefully.

This is because LaConco is now visiting home, and she attended his funeral.

In December 2022, Daily Sun reported about the then outcry of Fartescue, who was 94-years-old at the time, complaining that Nonkanyiso had abandoned him after he was angered by Zuma's decision to pay damages to her mother in Eastern Cape instead of paying it to him.

The old man complained that he was sick and was worried that he could die; he was going to die with a broken heart and was not going to be a good ancestor to Nonkanyiso.

He begged his daughter to come back home and iron out things.

Now that he is gone, his wife, LaConco's stepmother, Thoko (78), said that she believes that he is happy where he is.

"My husband was sick; he always felt weak and was partially blind. The sickness got worse, and he died in March. When Nonkanyiso was informed of her father's death, she went straight home. She was hands-on in everything. She was supportive, and she mourned her father; she made sure that he received a dignified burial," said Thoko.

She said that LaConco visits home and makes her father sleep peacefully.

"I know he is resting in peace. He loved Nonkanyiso, and I know he still loves her even after his death. So, seeing her at home makes him very happy. I sometimes dream of him smiling in a very peaceful place," said Thoko.

She added that she misses her husband, but she didn't take his death well.

"My heart was very broken; I miss him and his funny jokes. I even felt sick, and doctors discovered that I had a heart problem. I'm not well at the moment, but I consulted my doctor, and hopefully, I'll get better soon," said Thoko.

Nonkanyiso asked Daily Sun to send her a text message after Daily Sun called her several times.
