The story

Ngezana has opened up about the painful reality of racism he's been facing, sharing the hateful messages he received on social media last week.

The 27-year-old centre-back, who made the move to Romanian side FCSB at the start of the 2023/24 season from Kaizer Chiefs, has quickly established himself as a key player.

Under the tutelage of head coach Elias Charalambous, Ngezana continues to be a regular in the starting line-up, making 30 appearances so far this season.

While he has been enjoying his time abroad, Ngezana has been confronted with racist abuse. On Friday night, he took to his Instagram account to expose the offensive messages directed at him.

These vile insults came after FCSB secured a place in the Europa League Round of 16 by defeating Super League Greece champions PAOK Thessaloniki over two legs.

Ngezana's team will now face French Ligue 1 powerhouse Olympique Lyon, featuring stars like Lacazette and Nemanja Matic.

Take a look at Ngezana's post, which he captioned, "Turn that racism and curses into power.":

Ngezana has been a consistent starter for the Superliga champions in the ongoing Europa League campaign, having played seven times in the competition, including a commendable performances against Manchester United.

The ex-Glamour Boy, who has established himself as one of the key members of coach Elias Charalambous' team, played a significant part in helping FCSB reach the Last 16.
