Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Yusuf Maart has sent a message of appreciation to the supporters after he won the DStv Premiership Goal of the Season award.
Maart's goal against rivals Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby gave Chiefs a late 1-0 win back in October last year. It was voted for by fans as Goal of the Season in the PSL 2022/23 virtual awards ceremony.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder scored with a stunning shot from his own half that looped over goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane. Maart firstly appreciated his teammates for scoring that goal and credited their pressing game and the role of Khama Billiat in the goal.
"For that goal, I really appreciate my teammates, it's a team sport, because at the end of the day without them I wouldn't have scored the goal," Maart told Chiefs media.
"And we defended as a team from the front and Khama told me before time that, 'Listen here. Check the goalkeeper there, he's off his line'.
"Khama won the ball, made a tackle, the ball went loose and I took the ball, looked up and I told myself let me just take the risk and did it," he reflected.
The 26-year old also thanked the Amakhosi supporters for voting for his goal. The award came with a cash prize of R50, 000.
"I just want to thank everyone out there for voting for me for Goal of the Season (award), the supporters, I really appreciate you guys and thanks for everything, Amakhosi4Life!" he enthused.
Maart was the only Chiefs player to receive an award at the ceremony, with Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena walking away with the coveted Footballer of the Season award while Orlando Pirates forward Monnapule Saleng won the Players' Player of the Season award.
