Chiefs made five changes following defeat against Stellenbosch, as Edson Castillo, Yusuf Maart, Ranga Chivaviro, Christian Saile and Njabulo Ngcobo were recalled.
Amakhosi started positively, putting pressure on Chippa early on as Edmilson Dove and Chivaviro had good efforts at goal that missed wide.
However, the Chilli Boys were also threatening and Binevenu Eva Nga broke the deadlock midway into the first stanza with a close-range shot following a corner.
Chippa gained confidence as they remained on the front foot and Sinoxolo Kwayiba doubled their lead just after the half-hour mark with a strike from the centre of the box that found the bottom corner.
Cavin Johnson's charges were desperate going forward after that as Solomons and Saile had chances in quick succession but their efforts were off the mark.
The Chilli Boys were frustrating Amakhosi in the dying minutes of the first stanza as they defended in numbers and shut them out to head to the break with a two-goal lead.
Chiefs were quick off the blocks from the break as they created chances and just after the hour-mark Saile almost pulled a goal back with a strike that was kept out by goalkeeper Darren Johnson.
Johnson eventually made changes after that as Ashley Du Preez replaced Pule Mmodi and Siyethemba Sithebe replaced Mduduzi Mdantsane both for fresh legs.
Sithebe made his presence felt as ten minutes after coming on he nearly reduced the deficit with a strike that was produced the best out of Johnson.
The Glamour Boys continued to have the momentum but they were not getting clear opportunities and with eight minutes to go, they threw in Wandile Duba in place of Chivaviro for a new spark in attack.
Duba almost made an immediate impact for the visitors with a strike that sailed over the crossbar but the writing was on the wall for Chiefs in the tail end as they lost back-to-back matches.
