Kaizer Chiefs have announced that their first leg CAF Champions League tie against AS Vita will take place on Sunday, March 23 in Kinshasa.
Chiefs made it through to the second round of the tournament, the final one before the group stage, after beating Liga Muculmana earlier this month.
The Amakhosi tweeted today saying, “CAF Notice: We are playing AS Vita Club at Tata Raphael Stadium in Kinshasa DRC on Sunday, 23 March 2014 at 15:30.”
Up until now the exact date of the game was unknown, though it has now been confirmed by the club ahead of what will become a busy period for the Glamour Boys.
Chiefs face Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday night before travelling to the DRC on Friday, and will then host Vita on their own turf the following weekend.
Unfortunately it seems that the first leg of the tie, in Kinshasa, will not be televised in South Africa.
