SuperSport Tell Sundowns & Pirates: “Hands Off Brockie!”
SuperSport United Say Jeremy Brockie Is Not For Sale
SuperSport United have told Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates that their top scorer, Jeremy Brockie, is not for sale at any price, amid the growing interest in him.
The 29-year-old has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks after the Siya crew was informed that both Masandawana and the Buccaneers were interested in signing him from Matsatsantsa, however, it appears that he is going nowhere at this stage.
Speaking in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma the Kiwi explained that he was fully focused on the Nedbank Cup final at present, and would only start discussing his future once that tie was over.
His boss, Stan Matthews, recently confirmed that they had been approached for his services, although said that he wouldn’t be making any decisions until he had sat down with the new head coach, Eric Tinkler.
It would seem that Tinkler sees Brockie as a crucial part of his team, with Matthews now telling the Siya crew, “Jeremy is our leading goalscorer and we won’t even be considering selling him at this point in time.”
The news will no doubt come as a blow to Brockie’s potential suitors, however, SuperSport’s supporters will be delighted that the club is prepared to fend off approaches for a player who has scored over 40 goals in the last two and a half seasons.
