Komphela Discusses Fan Backlash At Chiefs

Steve Komphela Has Reacted To The Supporter Backlash At Kaizer Chiefs

By Soccer Laduma - Oct 02, 2017 03:29 PM
Steve Komphela is not a very popular man in the eyes of many Kaizer Chiefs supporters at present, saying that the team need to answer the backlash by getting results.

Komphela had to be escorted off the field in Durban this weekend following the Amakhosi’s loss to Baroka FC at Moses Mabhida Stadium, with some sections of fans calling for his head after failing to win for the 12th time in the last 15 matches.

‘Steve Must Go’ chants were happening in the stadium after Gift Motupa’s goal secured victory for Bakgaga, and Komphela has admitted that the current situation at Naturena is not good enough.

He told Chiefs’ official website, “We are supposed to answer the backlash of our supporters through the performance on the pitch. Nothing but winning will convince our supporters. We simply have to work even harder to get back to winning ways.

“Nine points from seven matches is not good enough for Chiefs… We have to improve drastically and make sure we become more consistent in winning our games.”

Chiefs’ next game is against Mamelodi Sundowns after the international break.

For letting Kompela go is not a solution for Chiefs, the big problem is Bobby, all he want is Finnish off the name Kaiser Chiefs football club, and open up a big Kaizer Chiefs Funeral Plan

@ruele123, Paez is a third division material, he exposed the lack of quality in the PSL, he failed many times elsewhere, but to my surprise he is able to score few goals against small teams here in South Africa.

You are scared of Paez, you already want to know if he's going to be ready,Paez will kill you guys, especially with chiefs under so much pressure you won't know what hit you brother,I remember one game when sundowns beat with Chuku scoring 2 goals I was a taxi driver at Bree street, and chiefs was in top form before that game and we had all the top stars in the PSL,but we lost,I was shocked because Sundowns used to be our daily

I also say Mr English must go,chiefs was winning because of molongoane, now he's no longer playing,if another coach comes in you'll see he's going to win with the same players, chiefs is too big for Khomphela,he's not used to winning,he forget that this is chiefs he must attack all the time, not defend like those small teams he was coaching before
