The young stars were the winners of the 2017 Future Players Gauteng Talent Search. The players are Vuyo Xabanisa from Kwa-Bhekilanga Secondary School in Alexandra, Thabang Rallele from Kgomotso Comprehensive High School in Soshanguve and Thembelihle Fikile from Forest High School in Johannesburg.

The three players will travel to Spain together with Future Coaches winner Sakhile Nkomo.

“The winners of the 2017 Future Players Gauteng Talent Search will embark on the trip of a lifetime this week when they travel to Spain to take in the sights and sounds of one of the world’s great footballing nations.

“The three young star footballers, Vuyo Xabanisa from Kwa-Bhekilanga Secondary School in Alexandra, Thabang Rallele from Kgomotso Comprehensive High School in Soshanguve and Thembelihle Fikile from Forest High School in Johannesburg, alongside Future Coaches winner Sakhile Nkomo, will make the journey to Madrid and Valencia.

“The group will travel as guests of the Spanish La Liga, who have offices in the Gauteng Province as part of their commitment to aiding youth football development in SA.

“They leave on 29 September, heading for the Spanish capital where they will take in a Spanish La Liga clash between Leganes and Atletico Madrid to sample the atmosphere in arguably the world’s greatest league.

“The players will undertake a tour of Madrid, one of the world's great capital cities, giving them a window into modern Europe and providing them with an education of sorts off the football pitch.

“They will also visit the famed Real Madrid Museum, before heading to the coast and Valencia, where they will visit the academy of six-time La Liga winners Valencia Club de Fútbol, and later attend training with another top-flight side, Villarreal.

“The group will return to Johannesburg on 6 October after what will be an unforgettable week for the youngsters and coach Nkomo.
