Maritzburg United announced that Siya Mdluli has returned to the club as one of Fadlu Davids’ assistants and the club also confirmed that four players have been released

Mdluli will work as Davids’ second assistant at Maritzburg alongside Mahier Davids, sealing a return to Pietermaritzburg after a spell with Real Kings in the National First Division.

The former player will also be the head coach of their Multichoice Diski Challenge team for the new season as he continues his coaching progression.

He told the club’s official website, “It feels good to be back home at Maritzburg United and in the PSL. I’m looking forward to joining the technical team and to working with the coaches who did a great job for the club last season.”

“As for the Diski team, we have unfinished business. We want to win it and to do that we have to work hard. I am happy to see some of the boys we started with now being with the senior team. We have to produce more for the senior team.”

Meanwhile, the club also revealed that Tumelo Mogapi, Happy Mashau, Tsepeletso Motjotji and Lindokuhle Mathebula have all been released in order to ‘make way for new signings’.
