Rivaldo Issues Ajax Apology After Being AWOL

Rivaldo Coetzee has issued an apology after going AWOL

By Soccer Laduma - Jul 25, 2017 05:17 PM

Rivaldo Coetzee has finally reported for duty at Ajax Cape Town, after being AWOL for weeks since the club’s return for pre-season.

The Bafana Bafana defender has been a notable absentee from the club, as the technical team and players have been preparing for the new season.

The centre back has been strongly linked with a move to Mamelodi Sundowns during this transfer window.

Ajax took to their official Twitter account to confirm the player’s return. The player has apologised for his actions.

“Ajax Cape Town family I requested a meeting with the boss this morning to discuss my future with the club.

“Firstly, I would like to apologise to the club, coaches and all my teammates for the way I behaved for almost three weeks.

“Ajax Cape Town has played a big role in my career and my development so far,” the defender said in part.

@Slivo true that one, sometimes the team will put heavy buying clause in the head of a hot wanted player by other teams just to chase them away its so unfair...........Did you read the Still In Touch of Japie Motale that was so unfair for Sundowns to hinder that.

Orlando Pirates will have Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic as their new coach by the start of the season, a source close to the team has claimed. Sredojevic who resigned from the Uganda national team at the weekend was expected in South Africa on Tuesday evening. A Buccaneer 4 lyf source in Uganda confirmed that Sredojevic left that country on Tuesday morning. “Micho left Uganda this morning. He boarded an Ethiopian Airline flight at 3am coming to South Africa to join Pirates,” said the source. He added that Micho had told Ugandan journalists with whom he had formed a good working relationship that he was leaving because he had an offer from Pirates. “We initially thought he was going to Libya or Saudi Arabia, but some guys who were close to him confirmed that he said he was going to Pirates in South Africa,” he added. A source at Pirates said although he was not sure about Micho becoming the coach, but he knew that Jonevret’s days at the Buccaneers are numbered. “He could be. I haven’t heard who they want to take over but Jonevret is skating on thin ice and I don’t see him staying until the season opens. There is a lot of dissatisfaction about him in the management and I heard his relationship with his assistants is no longer smooth,” said the source.
