Pitso Mosimane Reflects On Absa Premiership Result, Commends Roger De Sa
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach, Pitso Mosimane has reflected on this past weekend’s Absa Premiership result against Platinum Stars, where he also commended Roger de Sa for his work.
Khama Billiat gave Sundowns the early lead in the encounter on Sunday, October 01, with the Brazilians holding on to just one point to secure their three points.
Speaking to Masandawana’s official website, Mosimane has reflected on this weekend’s league encounter, saying that Platinum Stars are a difficult team to play against.
“In football, you need to take your chances whenever they present themselves. Imagine what would have happened if we didn’t score as early as we did? Okay, it was too early. I didn’t expect that. But if we didn’t score that goal, we would have been rushing and fighting for a win late in the match. Platinum Stars are a difficult team. They aren’t a walk in the park.
“We were sweating. They put us under pressure, a lot of pressure in the last few minutes. But that also gave us a little bit of a chance because they opened at the back. I thought we could have scored one or two (in that period). All in all, we’re just happy to win the match. There are a lot of games to catch up,” Mosimane said.
The Chloorkop-based club’s head coach then went on to commend Dikwena’s head coach, De Sa, adding that he feels for the former Orlando Pirates mentor who doesn’t have the strongest personnel at hand like the Brazilians.
“I think that Roger de Sa has done exceptionally well here. You might look at the games, that how many has he played and how many has he won – but it’s not about that. He found the team in a difficult position and he is trying to stabilise the team. Let’s be honest he doesn’t have a strong personnel as us. We are a little bit lucky. I feel for him as a brother and as a coach,” Mosimane added.
