Pirates' Striker Deal Falls Through, Despite Club Confirmation

Pirates Deal Falls Through, Despite Club Confirmation

Christian Obiozor is expected back at his club, Enyimba, at some point this week after his move to Orlando Pirates fell through.

The Siya crew reported towards the end of last month that, despite Pirates having confirmed the player’s move, it was still in jeopardy because the teams hadn’t agreed on a transfer fee.

A source said at the time, “The deal isn't finalised yet, at least financially. The player has undergone a medical and all, as Enyimba gave Pirates permission to speak with him, however, the financial aspects aren't done.

“Enyimba was prepared to lodge a complaint with CAF, but Pirates quickly explained the situation to defuse. Talks between the two clubs have now been lined up soon in order to settle on a fee.”

Now, following reports in Nigeria of the move breaking down, the crew contacted Enyimba’s Press Officer, Solace Chukwu, who confirmed that the player is now expected back with his club.

He said, “I’ve spoken to the Sporting Director, and he confirmed that the deal failed to go through. Obiozor is expected back in the country this week.”

The 22-year-old has played – and scored – for the Buccaneers during preseason, however it may be that the club’s fans never get to see him in a competitive game.

If the boy was that good or needed by the coach Dr Khoza was not going to allow him going back to Nigeria without a fight after all Pirates afford any player they want. Once and always

At this day in age Khoza is pulling wool over our faces....Why should Pirates sign international players only to frustrate the hell out o them and get rid of them at the end....Who sign players at Pirates and on whose account do they sign them...who scouts for the players and why do they always release them .This Obiozor case does not augur well for Pirates as they are burning bridges for future business. ..
