The Siya crew reported on Wednesday that the young international was jetting into Cairo to complete his move to the African giants, and the news has since been confirmed by Al Ahly on their personal platforms.
Wits, who gave the teenager his professional debut, also wished him well after the move was finalised, saying, “Good luck, and do us proud”.
While Egyptian reports had stated that the transfer was worth around $1.3m (R17m) the crew have been told that Al Ahly have paid the Clever Boys substantially more, with the figure believed to be over R20m ($1.5m) and could potentially rise to up to R30m with add-ons.
It remains to be seen whether the teenager will be able to make his debut this weekend, however his new club will be hoping to get him out on the field as soon as possible.
