South African Wonder Strike Nominated For FIFA Award

Oscarine Masuluke Is Up For FIFA's Puskas Award

By Soccer Laduma - Sep 22, 2017 05:11 PM

Oscarine Masuluke's overhead kick against Orlando Pirates didn't win PSL Goal of the Season, but it is up for a FIFA award this year.

The Baroka goalkeeper was in the running for the local gong at the end of the last season, however was pipped to it by Kaizer Chiefs' Siphiwe Tshabalala during the public vote.

Now, though, there is hope that the shot-stopper's goal will not go underappreciated, with a panel voting it into FIFA's Top 10 for the Puskas Award.

The panel that decided on naming Masuluke as a nominee featured esteemed players from the male and female game, inluding Henrik Larsson, Pedrag Mijatovic, Celia Sasic, Alan Shearer and Abby Wambach.

@Tabali Greetings.... Its fans faulty not the judges. This was an opportunity for fans to show that they voted for the goal the feel its worth absa's goal of the season. But ke thina nabanye we thought Shabba's goal was worth it. Its not our fault other fans only voted for Oscarine's goal on this site's comment section.

@mpendulo_mthethwa No man I beg to differ. Its not bitter but rather say we appreciated our own class. Remember the season before last that Shabba goal( against FSS), together with Kekana's wre nominated in this award but they wre never recognised locally. Taking nothing away from Masuluke's goal, Shabba's goal against SSU also deserved to be absa-lutely awesome goal...

KAIZER CHIEFS FANS VOTED WITH THEIR CONCIOUS , THEY PUT THE CLUB FIRST, MASALUKE SHOULD HAVE ASKED BOTH SUNDOWNS AND PIRATES FANS TO VOTE FOR HIM SO THAT HE CAN GET MORE VOTES, PIRATES FANS ABSTAINED FROM VOTING BECAUSE THAT GOAL WAS SCORED AGAINST THEM, NOW THEY ARE BLAMING KAIZER CHIEFS FANS , KAIZER CHIEFS FANS PRACTISE THEIR DEMOCRATIC RIGHTS TO VOTE FOR SHABBAS GOAL,

Now the real football people who understand soccer will really recognise the real deal. So many stupid voting in SA football. How can drunkards vote for serious issues in football?
