Orlando Pirates Confirm Contract Details Of New Goalkeeper
Orlando Pirates confirmed the contract details of newly signed Wayne Sandilands.
The Buccaneers announced the signing of the goalkeeper today (Thursday) via the club’s official Twitter account.
The shot-stopper, whose contract with Mamelodi Sundowns expired at the end of June, is joining Bucs on a long-term deal.
Bucs confirmed on the club’s official website that Sandilands has been signed on a three-year deal.
“Orlando Pirates is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands. The 33-year-old joins the Mighty Buccaneers on a three-year deal having spent four years at Platinum Stars and eight years at Mamelodi Sundowns respectively. On behalf of the Orlando Pirates we would like to welcome Wayne to the family,” stated Pirates.
It remains to be seen how Bucs’ goalkeeping department will look like going into the new season, as the club currently have Brighton Mhlongo, Jackson Mabokgwane, Siyabonga Mpontshane and Emmanuel Daniel, with Sandilands now being the fifth goalkeeper for the team.
