Bucs’ New Striker Not On Squad List
Newly Signed Orlando Pirates Striker Not Appearing On Squad List
Despite a hint from Orlando Pirates earlier this week that the club’s new striker Justin Shonga could be available to debut for the team at the weekend, the player’s name is notably absent from the PSL’s latest squad lists.
During the announcement of the club’s vehicle sponsorship from Ford on Tuesday, Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza hinted that the striker could be available to play this weekend.
“If he adjusts well, he will be playing on the weekend, I think,” said Khoza.
It was confirmed by The Buccaneers on Thursday that the 20-year-old Zimbabwean forward officially started training with the team. Milutin Sredojevic and the team will be at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday for their Absa Premier match against Polokwane City.
While it is not yet clear if the player will be in Sredojevic’s 18-man match day squad for the trip to Limpopo, it has been noted that his name is not in Bucs’ registered players for the 2017/18 season.
