The Team of Choice are now six games without a win on the back of two defeats to Kaizer Chiefs and Ea Lla Koto but started the season strongly as they beat the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns and Ajax Cape Town in their opening few matches.
Speaking to Maritzburg’s official website, the young head coach says that he just has to take the last result on the chin, and move forward.
He said, "Up to now the performances have been fantastic. I don't think any of the games that we have played until now - whether it was MTN or whether it was the league - we have not had anything but fantastic performances.
"We have to take it on the chin. These games come where you have three, four of your crucial players not really in form. It happens. If one player does not have a good game then you need the others to step up, if nobody is really taking charge, feeling the game.
"Then, of course, it's better to try and grind the result, to try to keep it 0-0 or score a goal if you can.”
Now, with the club having a couple of weeks to fix things during the international break, Davids believes that it will help them.
He continued, "We have more time now, two weeks to really work on the training ground, that's the only way its going to get better. If you look at it objectively, we played Chiefs, we played Pirates, and we had fantastic performances. All our performances until the Stars game have been good. Realistically we have been really good. Now it’s a case of reset.
"I take it as one bad performance, which we have to correct. I can accept that out of eight games, we had one bad game. Let's move on, let's work on it."
Maritzburg’s next game sees them face Chippa United on October 18th.
