Mamelodi Sundowns Injury Concerns Deepen
Mamelodi Sundowns will use the current FIFA break to try and get some of their key players back to full fitness before the Absa Premiership returns.
The Brazilians returned to winning ways in the 2017/18 domestic campaign after being eliminated from the CAF Champions League competition in the quarter-final stages.
Sundowns claimed a 1-0 win over Platinum Stars in the Absa Premiership, however, a few of Head Coach Pitso Mosimane’s key men were missing from the squad.
Here are the seven players currently nursing injuries as revealed on Sundowns’ official website.
Oupa Manyisa – groin injury
George Lebese – bronchitis
Yannick Zakri – ankle injury
Thela Ngobeni – groin injury
Anthony Laffor – foot injury
Rivaldo Coetzee – foot injury
Soumahoro Bangaly – groin injury
When league action returns, Masandawana will host Kaizer Chiefs at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on October 17 as Head Coach Mosimane’s side look to continue their winning momentum and get on track to claiming at least one piece of silverware for the 2017/18 season.
