Lovers: Billiat’s Decision Will Affect The Rest Of His Life

Lovers Mohlala Discusses Khama Billiat's future

By Kyle Smith - Sep 04, 2017 09:16 AM @KyleLaduma

Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender, Lovers Mohlala, has discussed the consequences of Khama Billiat’s potential departure from Mamelodi Sundowns.

THE BREAKDOWN: How Billiat Could Fit Into Chiefs

Billiat has been linked with a move away from the club, with negotiations over a new contract being drawn out and his current deal expiring at the end of the 2017/18 season. Mohlala has said that, even though a move is possible, Billiat needs to be smart about whatever decision he makes.

“Anything can happen in football, but you also have to be wise as a player,” he told Soccer Laduma. “You must ask yourself if you’re moving to greener pastures, are you moving to retire, or what are you doing? At the end of the day, when you make a move for money or whatever, you could be making a decision that will affect the rest of your life.”

Sundowns Begin Preparations For Life Without Billiat?

Mohlala went on to say that the Zimbabwean attacker’s relationship with Pitso Mosimane may be critical to the outcome of the ongoing situation.

“Say Billiat makes a decision about where he wants to go to… It’s going to affect him and he will be looking back and asking how he made his name,” he continued. “It’s not that Billiat needs to renegotiate his contract or something. Billiat is there to play. He’s a great player, he’s one player that I admire, but, at the end of the day, the decision lies with him. With the relationship he has with Pitso (Mosimane) may also determine whether he’s going to stay or go, but it's up to the team. Pitso can’t make the decision on his own, and at Sundowns they decide collectively. Pitso consults with the team in order to make a decision.”

Khama Billiat has spent four years at Sundowns to date, making 84 league appearances, scoring 31 goals and making a further 33 assists.

@MSANDROTIC "But Pitso complain about his services last season he missed silly goals and his salary is too much so thats why they decide to sell him but i don't understand why they sell him with expensive amount maybe they want to cover the amount they waisted to his salary i think so and now nobody show any interested to Billiat i think they seat down with him to solve the issue or Billiat decide himself to stay and they mustn't loan him to other team

According to Chiefs supporters, Billiat joining them means success. Not every player can fit into every team. when Mphela joined Chiefs chiefs thought he would achieve what he achieved with Downs. When Toreleba joined Chiefs chiefs supporters thought he would be the same player he was at Downs. When Siyanda Joined chiefs they thought he would be the same player he was at Downs. When Josta joined Chiefs they thought he would be the same player he was at Downs. When Zane Moosa joined Chiefs they thought he would be the same player he was at Downs. When Mphalele joined Chiefs they thought they thought draught is over but still no change. Billiat helped us while at the same time he also achieved something he wouldn't have achieved at Ajax. So Billiat helped Downs, and Downs also help Billiat. Both parties (Downs & Billiat) gained from the this relationship. So if Billiat decides to end the relationship in which he achieved what most players dream of, he's free to do that. At the end of the day, it's his life and when things turn as he didn't expect or when something turns as he expects he has himself to carry the cross. But one thing we're certain about is that when things turn bad Chiefs will reveal their real colours. Gaxa is an example; Torealba is a good example; Xulu is a good example;
